The questions candidates surface when they try to confirm whether an employer runs Greenhouse. Answers are byte-identical to the FAQPage JSON-LD, because AI engines that extract HTML and AI engines that extract JSON-LD should not see different text.
Which employers are verified on Greenhouse in 2026?
Employers we confirmed on 2026-09-03 by querying the public Greenhouse board API and checking that the postings returned actually match the company are SpaceX, Anduril Industries, Stripe, Coinbase, Robinhood Markets, Airbnb, DoorDash and Discord. Each row on this page carries the exact endpoint we used so you can rerun it. The list is short on purpose: a company appears only once its own live board returns real postings, never because a vendor database listed it.
How can I tell if a company uses Greenhouse?
Not by the apply URL, which is the mistake almost every guide makes about Greenhouse specifically. The conclusive check is the public board API at boards-api.greenhouse.io/v1/boards/ plus the company token plus /jobs: a response carrying live postings that match the company proves Greenhouse, and Greenhouse documents that this data needs no authentication. The easiest check with no tooling at all is the apply link itself: if a job URL on the company's own careers domain carries a gh_jid parameter, that employer runs Greenhouse. A careers page that loads Greenhouse's embed script or exposes a Grnhse object is also conclusive.
Why does the Greenhouse board URL redirect to the company's own site?
Because Greenhouse offers that redirect as a feature and large employers switch it on. Of the seven confirmed Greenhouse boards we loaded, six sent us straight to the employer's own careers domain: SpaceX to spacex.com, Stripe to stripe.com, and Anduril, Datadog, Robinhood and Oscar Health likewise. Only Discord rendered its board in place with a Powered by Greenhouse footer. This is the opposite of Workday or iCIMS, where the vendor hostname is unavoidable at the apply step, and it is why judging Greenhouse by the visible URL produces the wrong answer six times out of seven.
Is the Greenhouse board token always the company name?
No, and guessing it wrong is the most common reason someone concludes an employer is not on Greenhouse. DoorDash is doordashusa. Anduril Industries is andurilindustries. Oscar Health is oscar rather than oscarhealth. Three of the employers we verified would have been wrongly excluded by using the obvious token. If a token returns 404, try the legal entity name, the name without spaces, and the name with a country or suffix appended before concluding anything.
Do defense contractors use Greenhouse?
The new generation does and the established primes do not, which is the cleanest split we found. SpaceX and Anduril Industries both run Greenhouse, confirmed by their live board APIs. Meanwhile Lockheed Martin recruits on IBM BrassRing, Northrop Grumman applies through Eightfold AI with Workday as its system of record, RTX and Boeing are on Workday, and L3Harris is on SAP SuccessFactors. If you are applying across the sector, you are moving between four or five different systems, and advice written for one of them does not transfer.
Does SpaceX use Greenhouse?
Yes, and it is the clearest demonstration of why the URL test fails. Loading job-boards.greenhouse.io/spacex returns a 302 redirect to spacex.com/careers with no mention of Greenhouse anywhere, so a reader checking the address bar would conclude SpaceX is not a Greenhouse employer. Querying the board API for the same token on the same day returned the full live requisition set, thousands of postings, including an Aerodynamics Engineer role at Starbase. Same company, same moment, two opposite answers depending on which check you run.
Does a Greenhouse board with no jobs mean the company left Greenhouse?
It means the check is not finished. One well-known company's token returns HTTP 200 with valid JSON and a posting total of zero: a live board, correctly configured, with nothing on it. That is not evidence of Greenhouse and not evidence against it, which is why we excluded it rather than guessing. A 200 response proves the token exists. Only postings that match the company prove the employer is actively recruiting through Greenhouse.
Is Palantir on Greenhouse?
No, Palantir recruits on Lever, and it is the pairing people get wrong most often because Lever and Greenhouse serve similar companies and look similar to a candidate. We checked both directions on 2026-09-03: the Lever API returned live Palantir roles, and the Greenhouse token for palantir returned 404. Spotify is the same story. If you are applying to several scale-ups in a week, assume nothing and check the apply link for a gh_jid parameter or a lever.co host.
