Troubleshooting

What should I do when an analysis fails?

If an analysis stops with an error rather than a limit message, that is a server-side failure and not a problem with your file. Retry once. Your upload is already parsed at that point, so a retry does not mean re-uploading. If it fails again on the same resume, try a shorter job description.

First, check which message you got

A message about reaching your plan limit is not a failure. It means the month's free allowance is used up, and it is covered separately in the plan limits article.

An error message, or an analysis that stops partway, is a genuine failure and is what this article covers.

Retry once

A single retry clears most of these. The parse and the analysis are separate steps, and the failures we see are concentrated in the analysis step, after your resume has already been read successfully.

Then try a shorter job description

If the same resume fails twice, paste a trimmed version of the posting: the responsibilities and requirements sections, without the company boilerplate, benefits, and legal footer. Very long postings are the most common trigger we can reproduce.

If it still fails

Get in touch and include the approximate time it happened and the job title you were analyzing against. Every failed analysis is logged with a request ID on our side, and the timestamp is enough for us to find yours.
