How does ResumeAdapter work?
ResumeAdapter compares one resume against one job description and tells you what is missing. You upload a resume, paste the job posting, and get an ATS score with a ranked list of keyword and skills gaps. On a paid plan you can then rewrite the resume line by line and export it as PDF or DOCX.

The four steps
- 1. Upload your resume: PDF, DOCX, or a clear photo. Up to 5MB, one file at a time. Scanned files are read with OCR automatically.
- 2. Paste the job description: Paste the full posting, not just the title. The score is calculated against this specific job, so a short or truncated posting produces a weaker analysis.
- 3. Read the gap report: You get an ATS score plus every missing keyword and skill, ranked, with the reason each one matters.
- 4. Rewrite and export: On a paid plan, work through the suggested changes line by line, approve each one, rescore against the job, and export as PDF or DOCX.
What you need before you start
You need a resume you have already written and the text of a specific job posting. ResumeAdapter adapts an existing resume to a target job. It does not write one from a blank page for you.
What it does not do
It does not apply to jobs on your behalf, and it does not guarantee interviews or offers. The score measures how well your resume matches one posting, which is one input into a hiring decision among many.
